A RETAIL worker has found a unique penny in their register that sells for as much as $4,370.
They were opening a roll of pennies when the 121-year-old coin fell out of it.
Eric Miller, a coin expert, shared the find on his TikTok (@thecoinchannel) and explained what makes the penny so special.
It was a 1902 Indian Head penny, which features Lady Liberty in a Native American headdress with the word "Liberty" across it on the obverse.
The reverse features an oak wreath and shield, with "ONE CENT" in the middle.
The highest grade a coin can get is 70, but an Indian Head penny with a 60 grade sold for a record $4,370 at auction.

PENNIES TO LOOK FOR
Miller explained that other Indian Head pennies are much more valuable at lower grades.
The 1877 penny is extremely valuable and considered one of the most sought-after coins in the Indian Head series, according to the Professional Coin Grading Services.
This coin had an extremely low mintage, meaning collectors were willing to pay top dollar to get their hands on one.
It sold for a record $71,300 at auction.

Last year, an 1870 Indian Head cent was listed on eBay resulting in a bidding war.
The coin had some damage along the rim but the fine details were still visible.
Collectors battled it out until the final minutes of the sale when someone bid $4,051.
"The Indian Cents from the first half of the 1870s are the easiest to find from that decade, but they are not as common as dates in the 1880s and 1890s," PCGS president Ron Guth wrote.
Another rare penny from 1872 sold for a whopping $126,500.
During that year, financial hardships prevented people from collecting coins, making them extra hard to find in good condition today.
